A Little Creativity, a Lot of Color, and One Winning Kart Wrap!
At Nitro Kart Wraps, we’ve always believed that a great-looking race kart starts with a design that reflects the personality of the driver. Recently, I decided to put our online kart wrap design tool to the test by hosting a contest, inviting racers and fans to create their own custom kart wrap designs for a chance to have their creation featured on my personal kart.
We received some great submissions with unique patterns and color combinations, but one design stood out in the voting. That design happened to come from my daughter, Millie, who decided to put her own spin on a classic racing look.

A Classic Racing Design With Her Own Touch
Using our online design tool, Millie selected the Legacy Rainbow pattern, inspired by Jeff Gordon’s iconic rainbow paint scheme from his NASCAR career. Rather than using the traditional colors, she chose a combination of pink, purple, yellow, blue, and other bright colors to create something a little more her style.
The result was a colorful take on one of the most recognizable designs in motorsports. With a little help from everyone who voted, her design came out on top, earning its place on my kart.
As someone who has spent most of my life around racing, it’s pretty special to see my daughter taking an interest in the creative side of the sport. I’ve designed hundreds of race cars and kart wraps over the years, but having her design one for me is a different experience.
Built by a Racer, for Racers
As the owner of Nitro Kart Wraps, I’ve always tried to approach our products from a racer’s perspective. I’ve spent years behind the wheel, competing in short track racing throughout the Northeast, and I understand firsthand what racers look for when it comes to their graphics.
A kart wrap needs to do more than just look good. It needs to fit properly, hold up to the demands of racing, and be produced using quality materials that drivers can count on throughout the season. From the design process to the vinyl we print on, those details are important to us because they’re the same things I look for on my own race cars.
That’s also why we developed our online kart wrap design tool. We wanted to give racers a straightforward way to personalize their karts without needing professional graphic design experience. Customers can select from our available patterns, experiment with color combinations, and create a look that fits their style.
Millie’s design is a good example of just how easy that process can be. She was able to select a pattern, choose her favorite colors, and put together a design that will go from the computer screen to an actual race kart.
Bringing Her Design to Life
What started as a fun contest turned into a project with a little more meaning. Racing has been a big part of my life, both on the track and through my businesses, and being able to share a small part of that experience with my daughter makes this particular wrap pretty special.
I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in our contest, create designs, and vote for their favorites. It was great seeing the different ideas people came up with using our online tool, and we hope to do more projects like this in the future.
As for my kart, it looks like I’ll be running a little more pink and purple than usual, but I think the designer made a pretty good choice.
